Video doorbell with camera, two-way audio and motion recording, so the visitor is seen and spoken to before the door is opened.
A doorbell that only rings tells you someone is there but not who, and by the time you reach the door they have gone. A video doorbell puts a camera, a microphone and a speaker at the entrance, so the visitor is seen and spoken to from a phone before the door is opened. Motion detection starts a recording even when nobody presses the button. It normally replaces an existing wired chime, or runs on a battery where there is no wiring.
