LiFePO4 Battery Pack
LiFePO4 battery pack for solar storage and backup power, with long cycle life, integrated BMS and modular capacity.
Storage is bought for its tenth year, not its first month. Lithium iron phosphate holds its capacity over far more cycles than the older chemistries and is far less prone to thermal runaway, which is why it has become the default for stationary storage. The pack is only as good as the battery management system that protects it, balances the cells and reports state of charge honestly to the inverter. Voltage, capacity and the allowed charge current have to be read together, because a pack that cannot take the array current wastes the panels.
How it is specified
- Nominal voltage and capacity in Ah and kWh, and the usable window
- Cycle life, and the depth of discharge that figure is quoted at
- Continuous and peak charge and discharge current
- BMS functions: cell balancing, protection thresholds, temperature sensing
- Communication: CAN, RS485 or dry contact, and the inverter brands tested with it
- Series and parallel configurations permitted, and the limits of each
- Enclosure: rack-mount module, wall-mount, or cabinet assembly
- Operating temperature range, derating, and transport documentation
Where it is used
- Solar and hybrid storage systems
- Telecom and remote site backup
- UPS and DC power plants
- Off-grid homes and equipment cabins
